Information for Prospective Residents

As required by the National Residency Matching Program (NRMP) and the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME), the following resources are available to you and apply to all ACGME-accredited residencies within the TMC Health Medical Education Program (THMEP).  By continuing your candidacy in the selection process with any THMEP residency program, you confirm that you have reviewed these documents, and you further acknowledge that you meet all requirements for participation in the THMEP residency program(s) in which you have applied.

Residency Agreement and Benefits

TMC Health Medical Education Program is committed to supporting our residents with clear expectations, competitive compensation, and comprehensive benefits.

Sample Residency Agreement – Academic Year 2026–2027
This agreement outlines the responsibilities of both THMEP and our residents, including expectations for clinical duties, educational activities, and institutional policies. Annual Residency Stipend – Academic Year 2025–2026
Stipend amounts vary by postgraduate year and are reviewed annually. Updated stipend information for AY 26–27 will be posted once finalized. Annual Resident Stipend AY 25-26

Resident Benefits
THMEP offers a robust benefits package to support resident wellbeing and professional growth. Benefits include:
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance (effective July 1 following hire)
  • Paid time off for vacation, holidays, conferences, medical, parental, and caregiver leave
  • Education stipend for eligible purchases such as board prep materials, medical equipment, and CME travel
  • Professional liability coverage with occurrence-based policies
  • Support services for resident wellness, impairment, and grievance resolution

THMEP also provides structured mentorship, faculty development, and access to on-demand CME resources.

Arizona State License Requirements

THMEP residents are required to obtain an Arizona license. Please review the state licensure requirements for each medical board below.

Institutional and Program Policies

As part of our commitment to maintaining the highest standards in graduate medical education, THMEP has established a comprehensive set of institutional and program-specific policies. These policies are designed to ensure a safe, equitable, and effective learning environment for all participants.
Applicants should be aware that certain policies may impact their candidacy for our programs. By submitting an application, candidates acknowledge that they meet the requirements outlined in these policies and agree to comply with them throughout their participation in the program.
A complete library of THMEP institutional and program policies—including those related to promotion, grievance procedures, supervision, time away from duty, and more—will be provided to applicants upon receipt of an offer to join our program.
