Research and Scholarly Activity
Our residents learn the basic principles of research and scholarly activities through participation in journal clubs, quality projects, case reports, and clinical trials. They learn how research is conducted, evaluated, and applied to patient care.
All residents are required to complete at least two scholarly activities during their training, including a quality improvement project and a journal club presentation. Residents are encouraged to present case reports, abstracts, and oral vignettes at state or national conferences. In their PGY-3 year, residents are expected to present at Grand Rounds. Our program offers a dedicated research elective for a total of four weeks during the three years of training. Faculty mentorship is provided to offer guidance and support throughout scholarly activities.
