Research and Scholarly Activity
Our residents gain a strong foundation in research and scholarly activity through active participation in journal clubs, quality improvement projects, case reports, and clinical trials. They develop a clear understanding of how research is conducted, critically evaluated, and translated into patient care.
Throughout their training, all residents are required to complete at least two scholarly activities, including a quality improvement project and a journal club presentation. They are encouraged to present case reports, abstracts, and oral vignettes at state and national conferences. During their PGY-3 year, residents are expected to present at Grand Rounds.
To support these efforts, our program offers a dedicated four-week research elective spread across the three years of residency. Faculty mentors provide personalized guidance and support to help residents navigate and succeed in their scholarly pursuits.
