Neurology Residency Block Schedule
The Neurology Schedule was created with the intention of residents maximizing their learning with the time they spend at THMEP. With rotations at Tucson Medical Center, the VA Hospital, Center for Neurosciences and other electives, we know our residents will be getting the full scope of medicine.
During your residency you will complete rotations at the following sites:
Inpatient Medicine
- Tucson Medical Center (TMC) - Tucson Medical Center has been Southern Arizona's locally governed nonprofit regional hospital for 75 years. TMC traces its roots to the world-famous tuberculosis center, the Desert Sanatorium, which opened in 1927. The sanatorium's owners donated the facility to the people of Tucson during World War II, and TMC was established as a community, nonprofit hospital in 1943.
- Southern Arizona Veterans Association Hospital (VA) - Southern Arizona VA Health Care System provides all Veterans with outstanding health care, trains America’s future health care providers, and conducts important medical research. The Tucson VA Medical Center is a teaching hospital that provides a full range of health services for Veterans with state-of-the-art technology.
- El Rio Health (El Rio) - El Rio began in 1970, they have grown to serve one out of every ten Tucsonans. They are proud to be one of the most innovative, highly regarded, non-profit health centers in the United States.El Rio receives funding from many health insurers, patient co-pays from our sliding fee scale, government grants and private donations to El Rio Health Center Foundation.
Outpatient Medicine
- Center for Neurosciences - Excellence in Quality, Excellence in Care - The Center for Neurosciences is home to Southern Arizona’s largest and longest standing group practice dedicated to the treatment of neurological disorders. Their multispecialty group, which includes Neurosurgery, Adult Neurology, Pediatric Neurology, Neuro-Oncology, Interventional Pain Management, Radiation Oncology, Neurotology, Audiology and Inpatient Neurology, offers complete neurological care to patients of all ages.
- TMCOne - TMCOne offers primary and specialty care at multiple locations throughout Tucson. As a part of the TMC Health, TMCOne provides comprehensive health care services for all patient needs.
