Transitional Residency Program

The Transitional Program provides experience for twelve residents on Internal Medicine, Emergency Medicine,  Surgery and on elective services (many choices including Critical Care).

During internal medicine rotations, transitional residents rotate through Tucson Medical Center and the Southern Arizona VA Medical Center.

The Surgery experience is at Tucson Medical Center, where each resident participates on the Surgery Service conducted by the University of Arizona-Tucson Hospitals Surgery Program.  Residents have the opportunity to perform many minor operations in addition to participating in major procedures.

All residents attend the surgical clinics and participate in the scheduled conferences and teaching rounds including both Surgical and Internal Medicine educational activities.

One month of vacation is provided yearly.
